History

The History of Tymbark

The history of the place where the Tymbark brand was born, dates back to the fourteenth century. It was then that King Casimir the Great, who was hunting in nearby forests, founded the parish in this place and founded the parish church. In 1353 the ruler of the city signed the location into the Magdeburg law. It received the name Jodłowa Góra. It derives from it its German equivalent of Tannenberg, which in time evolved into its present name - Tymbark.

Początków sadownictwa na tym terenie należy szukać w XVII wieku. To właśnie wtedy Dunajcem i Wisłą popłynęły do Gdańska pierwsze śliwki. Tak zaczęła się sława owoców z Tymbarku! Na dobre rozkwitła w XIX wieku. Zarządzający tymi ziemiami Austriacy, wzorem podalpejskich miejscowości w Tyrolu, masowo zakładali wówczas sady. Władze Galicji wprowadziły nawet obowiązek sadzenia drzew owocowych przez pary zawierające związek małżeński.

Historia naszej firmy to nieodłączny składnik budujący jej tożsamość i kulturę.

Development

The actions of World War II slowed the  development of cooperatives. But the enthusiasm of the employees of Tymbark meant that in the postwar period the Fruit Growers Cooperative became one of the most thriving businesses in Poland.

The newly established branches in Wrocław and Raciborz saw the production of vegetables and medicinal herbs. In Katowice - sweetened juices, and in Cracow and Zakopane, the first warehouse. Although in 1950 the cooperative was nationalized, and a year later became part of the Central Board of Fruit and Vegetable Industry, the potential of Tymbark was recognized and they expanded the facility.

In the 80's Tymbark was included in the structure of "Iglopol." This resulted in a decline in the significance of the company. In 1990, systemic changes in the country helped to turn the company into an independent company once again. This would not have been been possible without the extraordinary effort of the whole team. In the years 1990 - 1998 work continued on upholding and strengthening the company's position in the market. This same period also saw a number of significant investments which completely changed the face of our company
